MIMOS Technologies Sdn Bhd (MTSB), in collaboration with the Malaysian Indian Transformation Unit (MITRA) under the Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA), is supporting the development of future semiconductor talent through the MITRA Semiconductor Training Programme.

The programme is designed to provide Malaysian Indian graduates with specialised technical knowledge and practical exposure to the semiconductor industry, equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to pursue careers in one of Malaysia’s most strategic and rapidly growing sectors.

As part of the initiative, participants undergo a 10-day Semiconductor Process & Fabrication Technology training at MIMOS. The programme combines classroom-based learning with hands-on exposure to semiconductor manufacturing processes, wafer fabrication, and real-world industry practices. Through this practical approach, participants gain a deeper understanding of semiconductor technologies and the end-to-end processes involved in semiconductor manufacturing.

Beyond technical training, the programme aims to strengthen participants’ employability through industry-relevant knowledge, technical competencies, certification, and career opportunities. By connecting graduates with industry exposure and potential job placement pathways, the programme helps bridge the gap between academic learning and the practical requirements of the semiconductor workforce.

The MITRA Semiconductor Training Programme will be delivered across three cohorts, providing more Malaysian Indian graduates with the opportunity to develop industry-relevant skills and explore career pathways within the semiconductor sector. Following the successful commencement of the first cohort, Cohort 2 is scheduled to begin in October 2026, with further opportunities to be made available through the subsequent cohort. Through this initiative, MTSB continues to strengthen its commitment to talent development and contribute towards building a skilled, industry-ready workforce for Malaysia’s semiconductor ecosystem.
